You wrote: "The Americans were sure, that Russia would invade Ukraine doctrinal and conquer it within days". 'Ukraine doctrinal' does not have any meaning to English speakers. What do you mean by this word 'doctrinal'? esp. in connection with the word 'Ukraine'?

Thank you for this remark.

I will check this with my editor, how to replace it.

Every army has a military doctrine.

I won't describe it here what it is, but you can search it in the internet.

What I meant is, that everyone was expecting, that Russia will invade Ukraine according to its military doctrine.

I hope it is now a little bit more clear, what I meant?

Sorry for the confusion.

yes it never occurred to me to see 'doctrinal' as 'doctrine'. I should have. I did not realize that you were using "doctrinal" as a noun not as a adjective.

Just a quick question: what is a strategic planner in the civilian world?

A great article. Many have noted that Russia's losses were greatest in the first two or three weeks. Perhaps over 400 tanks and some aircraft and up to 2000 men, although it is hard to say exactly. But losses are hard to confirm and NATO propaganda exaggerates, distorting the picture. I think that the RF expected to lose some aircraft before the Ukrainian AD defenses were degraded. The AD was very good. Russian, of course. As for Kiev, the forces their were undermanned . But they did their job: keeping the UAF occupied in the north. Still, the bulk of the fighting was done by the DPR and LPR militias and most of the casualties are theirs. So, at this point, the Russians have lost perhaps 20,000 total. The Ukrainians have lost likely 200,000. I might be wrong, of course. In any case, your analysis is really spot-on. Thank you for this.
