As a father and grandfather I concur.

Best of luck. It is so easy to be sucked into nihilistic despair the more we learn about our existence. Family comes first, a bedrock of mental health and purpose. Aleks, please pop out a note or an update now and then, even annually. Be nice to hear positive news if you are up to it.

We’ll miss you 😔

You’re one of three writers that are must read for me on Substack.

Enjoy your time with your family. They’re only young once and grow up so fast! (I know)

If you ever do need to write down a thought or two you know where to find us.

Bravo my dear man! You made the absolutely right decision and will never, ever regret it. 5 years old is still not too late. Your son will pick right up with you with nary a beat. And congratulations on the second child's birth. And of course, my finest regards to their mother!

I was starting to wonder what happened to you since you no longer posted about the ongoing conflict between Russia vs Ukraine. All your updates since 2022 have helped me to understand geopolitics better now and you have also helped me open new ways of thinking about stuff in life. I am forever grateful to you for that.

I hope your family is doing well and may God keep you and your family safe and prosperous. Enjoy every moment with them. Cheers mate!

I think you made the right decision. When I was young, my parents had to work a lot, so I often missed them. When our daughter was born, I decided to spend a lot of time with the child, even if I missed career opportunities. Our daughter has now grown up to an independent person and we still have a trustful relationship. I am very happy about that.
