Ah, the B-1 Lancer. Dad worked on the design of this plane in the 1970s when we lived in Ohio near Wright Patterson AFB. I still have the models and displays he’d bring home strewn around the house.

Unlike dad, the B-1 is still in service, even though the america we thought we were defending with it, no longer exists.

That's actually a beautiful and a sad story at the same time πŸ˜…

Remind me: why are we talking about this? Americans have been bombing the middle east since I was a little kid in elementary school. I see no reason why we would begin to livestream the bombing run as it's ongoing.

Yeah, but this little attack is purely for the headlines, so they need to play it up as much as possible.

Point.

We should livestream it because:

1. Times have changed. We have the opportunity to make empire kills less normalised.

2. Never have bomber planes look more like emperors with no clothes.

3. The current situation in the Middle East will be more noticeable on the history timeline.

I can see that would have a large impact to stream these bombing strikes. But unless we had our own reporters filming, we could wind up watching green screen.

I'm not so concerned about de normalizing war. Instead, the sheep need to see what is coming to them. Sheep are geneticly chosen and bread to be mild mannered and obedient.

If nothing else, the watchers will learn more about the way the empire fights.

I was in the Army when a lot of this started. If we're going livestream it will help the natives belive that Biden is competent.

The B-1 bombers will be striking at a distance with missiles, I presume. They are an impressive delivery system, but the US is bound to either strike mundane targets, as they routinely do, or up the ante to direct conflict with Iran, as Israel desires.

If the bombers fire missiles at distance and altitude, their targets can be predicted, or at least a sector can be emergently evacuated.

(I voted "combination")

I would like to clarify my vote.

"Nothing" meaning not necessarily that they will not bomb anywhere. They will probably bomb somewhere (it does not matter where), but just for the sake of a few explosions as a stunt/show for the American and European MSM/public.

All the Islamic militias in the region have probably gone to safe harbours by now.

It makes me wonder how different the world would be if Nixion had gone with Iran in stead of Saudi Arabia, for pegging the dollar to oil.

Kissinger talked Nixon into Saudi Arabia. He actually had plans to go with Iran

The Iranians still owe the US one for taking out Soleimani. If I were Iran, now would be a very good time for a long-distance take-out of someone strategic. Not endorsing it, obviously.

Those B1s probably needed the exercise. But they are so old it wouldn't be surprising if one of them fell out of the sky. Biden's military is not the best on maintenance.

I wish... but they probably agreed with Iran to allow them to bomb a few empty places in Iraq and/or Syria just to show off.
